A farmer wants to protect his fields from wild boars: he finds the solution at his sister’s grooming salon
To protect his fields, a farmer had an unusual idea!
Samuel Riblier is a farmer based in the Orne department.
An invasion of boars
For several years, his cornfields had been devastated by wild boars who came to eat the crops.
Instead of using dangerous repellents, the farmer thought of a solution that would keep the boars away without harming them.
He collects dog hair that he scatters all over his field. In this way, wild boars smell the smell of dogs and no longer venture to eat corn in the fields!
An ecological and safe solution
Samuel noticed the effectiveness of this non-harmful solution. Now the wild boar tracks stop at the edge of his field.
It is with his sister who is a groomer for dogs in the Dody Dog salon that he collects dog hair.
Indeed, after grooming, dog hair is thrown in the trash, so the idea of reusing it to put it in the fields is very ecological.
This groomer even offers her customers to collect dog hair to put in their garden to keep pests away, without having to put on repellents. Very ingenious!
