Ground steaks urgently recalled, it continues

Another consumer product recalled by French supermarkets! And, once again, it is a product that children particularly appreciate… Decidedly, nothing has been going well in French mass distribution for a few months. The Objeko team gives you all the details about its recalled burgers, but also about the latest major product recalls in recent weeks. And there are many…

Products recalled almost daily

The black series continues for French supermarkets. There has been no shortage of health scandals and product recalls lately! The biggest, and the biggest to date, is of course the one concerning Kinder eggs. They were contaminated with salmonella. Many children fell very seriously ill in France, but also in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and in many other countries. Worse still, this product recall took place a few days before Easter…

If Ferrero, the producer of Kinder eggs, announced that everything was back to normal, consumers remain more than suspicious…

Another very important health scandal, that of Buitoni pizzas. An employee of the manufacturing plant had however already sounded the alarm a long time ago. The factory conditions are just awful. The food piles up on the ground, the production lines are not clean, a real disaster. Some of his pizzas sent several people to the hospital. Since then, the pizzas have been recalled, and the production plant has been closed. And unfortunately there were many others…

Leclerc ground beef recalled

Clearly, children have been doing very poorly lately. Most of the products recalled in the past few months are among their favorites. History repeats itself once again with the minced steaks sold by the distribution giant Leclerc.

These were sold at the Leclerc center in Saint-Sever in Rouen, in Seine-Maritime. The offending meat was thus marketed between January 24 and April 24, 2022, in the traditional butchery department. It is of course the government platform Rappel Conso that sends us the information. If these minced steaks are thus recalled, it is because they are suspected of being contaminated with listeria. It is a bacterium that causes listeriosis, a disease with potentially dramatic consequences.

Listeriosis: a disease to be taken seriously

These minced steaks are therefore recalled for suspicion of listeriosis. Listeriosis, a disease caused by the bacterium listeria monocytogene, is the most serious. It is even fatal in 40 to 60% of cases! In adult humans, listeriosis can cause sepsis and death. Elderly or immunocompromised people are even more susceptible to the disease. In pregnant women, the disease develops especially around the future child, and can cause premature delivery or abortion.

We understand better then why these minced steaks are recalled! If you live with children or people at risk, check all your packaging carefully! If you have any doubts, do not hesitate to consult a doctor. Listeriosis can take up to 8 weeks before symptoms appear. So take all the necessary precautions!

Another kid-loved product recalled

This week, Carrefour massively recalled all its chicken cordon bleu, nationwide. The incriminated chicken cordon-bleus are sold in pairs in 200-gram boxes under the Carrefour brand. They are the subject of a recall throughout France. The batch affected by the recall is 29022095B with a consumption expiry date of 04/30/2022. The cordons-bleus in question were marketed between April 6 and 26.

So, you may have bought them in the last few days! The Objeko team recommends that you check your fridges and freezers. These blue cords are being recalled because they pose a risk of plastic contamination. It can be extremely dangerous, especially if children ingest this plastic. Don’t eat them at all!

Whether it’s for your minced steaks or your recalled cordons bleus, Objeko insists. Don’t eat them at all! You can indeed bring them back to the store for a refund. If so, just throw them in the trash!
