The young lawyer Juan Branco had himself announced that he had been taken into police custody on June 1 for a rape investigation, opened after the accusations of a student with whom he allegedly had non-consensual relations.

But on June 23, the Paris prosecutor’s office had decided to open a judicial investigation of the counts of rape entrusted to an examining magistrate. According to Le Point, the complainant in her deposition recounted having taken opiates with the lawyer and that the behavior of the latter would have changed after that.
She explains that he would have tried to kiss her and that she did not want to have sex but was “afraid that he would become violent”. Facts that Juan Branco continues to deny, even if the version he had published on Facebook at the time has since been contradicted by his accuser.
