Women’s rights: Avignon lawyers offer free consultations

On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, the Avignon Bar Association offers free consultations focused on women’s rights. These consultations open to women are accessible on three sites: at the courthouse and on the two campuses of the University of Avignon. “All themes, all concerns that interest women and young women can be addressed, whether it be violence, harassment, the social aspect of labor law, family law as well”details the president of the Avignon bar association, Jean-Maxime Courbet, guest of France Bleu Vaucluse this Tuesday morning.

“Access to rights is equal for all and dates back to 1946, but we can see that it is still difficult to implement this equality on the practical level, on the salary level, on the professional level, with persistent wage disparities, for example”observes Jean-Maxime Courbet. “The Avignon Bar wanted to mobilize precisely with young women, in particular so that they can know their rights and assert their claims”he continues.

Consultations take place this Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the Avignon courthouse and on the two university campuses: Hannah Arendt and Jean-Henri Fabre for high school and university students.
